Donate to Hurricane Helene Relief Through Oct. 4
A Message from FSW President Dr. Jeff S. Allbritten
I hope this message finds you safe after our recent encounter with Hurricane Helene. As you may know, our neighbors in North Florida suffered severe damage and loss from the storm. When Hurricane Ian impacted our own communities in 2022, we were deeply moved by the outpouring of support in the form of food and supplies from across the state. Now, it is our opportunity to extend the same kindness.
Florida SouthWestern State College is organizing a collection drive to gather essential items for the communities affected, particularly for North Florida College and Florida Gateway College. Our goal is to deliver relief by Monday, October 7, and we are seeking donations of the following:
- Toiletries (toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc.)
- Cleaning supplies (cleaning agents, tools, etc.)
- Non-perishable food and beverage items (preferably those that do not require a can opener)
Drop-off Locations (during business hours through Friday, October 4):
- Lee Campus: Q Building, Rooms 127–128, and Light House Commons Lobby
- Charlotte Campus: O Building, Room 101
- Hendry/Glades Curtis Center: A Building, Room 107
- Collier Campus: M Building, Lobby
If you prefer to contribute financially, please visit the FSW Foundation website this week and select “Hurricane Helene Relief” in the Designation or Special Instructions field.
