FSW is hosting the Calusa Waterkeeper State of Our Water quarterly meeting on April 11, 9:30 a.m. — noon! Join us on Lee Campus, Room U-102 for a discussion on the connection between algal toxins and alzheimer’s disease.
This meeting will explore current research centered on how exposure to algal toxins can contribute to the onset of dementia and examine approaches to protect against exposure and neurotoxicity.
Keynote speaker Dr. David Davis from the University of Miami Brain Endowment Bank will discuss the relationship between environmental toxins and their potential role in causing neurodegenerative diseases.
